Yes, as I look around the recent post's, I wonder where have all the good folks gone?
Where is the interaction we had with one another?
Where's the caring and concerned commenters who always tried to give their best advice?
I miss them!!!
I miss a girl called Ramjet. Alonesoonyousay, seniorlady, then there's Lnlife and Wayne, don't forget Scottslad the list goes on.
They are leaving this site, or they have already left.
And I am left here wondering why they are going?
Some were kind enough to say goodbye, while others have just fallen off the end of the earth.
There are many whom had touched my heart and have given me great concern. I worry for another handfull that were having really trying times in their lives! I pray that everything is alright with them.
Then I again read the recent postings and I can see why they were leaving!
It makes me wonder, long and hard about people posting here. Are they really wanting to reach out, or are they just flapping thier gums?
Are the questions they pose, honest desires to learn, or are they just filling their time with a bunch of b.s. so as not to go nuts dealing with their own lives?
The postings mostly resemble diary's.
Then there is a lot of would be writers, who should be using spell check, and like me, they should keep a dictionary next to the computer, so that might llook up a word for it's proper usage before typing.
Parents have allowed the kids to speak ebonics in their classrooms, and they are doing their children a huge dis-service! When that child goes on to a college that speaks ebonically? They are not going to be able to understand the cariculum (check the spelling) and they are certainly not going to impress a job interviewer!
Course that will be okay, because as we turn to being a service based economy, they will be perfectly suited for McDonalds, and they will be able to keep up with the younger kids who can't speak english either!
Who am I kidding?
Parents don't even spend time with their children anymore.
Hell they lost their $25.00 an hour job due to NAFTA and now have got to go to work for $10.00 an hour at two jobs just in order to provide their children with all the little electronic gadgets that retail at hundreds or thousands of dollars.
Forget that Johnny and Janey can't tell you where Montreal is, as long as they got those two hundred dollar shoes to wear. That is until some thug sticks a knife in their face for those shoes.
Don't forget mommy and daddy are certainly not going to pass that school levy so their kids get a decent enviroment to learn in.
God forbid the teachers earn a living wage, after all we only want them to teach our kids the three R's. ( oh yeah--- while being cops to save the brats from fighting, and to patrol the halls so perverts don't come in and snatch my child, keep gang activity out and away from the school, protect my kid from bullies, and please keep the dope smoking and alchohol to a minimum!)
Yep! I'm starting to get the picture why so many people I have met here aren't hanging around anymore.
Seeing all the waste of time trying to understand the rantings of such uneducated teens here is getting depressing.
