It's sunday night, and I'm listening to "Saturday Night" by the Bay City Rollers ! haha :)
I have this feeling of wanting to go out and dance all night, but there isn't any night club around here that's close enough for me, and even if there was, it surely wouldn't have a live band on sunday night. Besdides I'm damn near sixty years old and there aren't any of my friends who can hang with me all night.
I went out with a bunch of my younger buddies about three months ago. There were the five of us at a night club that was just packed with people dancing and partying like it used to be for us.
I was completely embarrassed by my four friends who are all twenty five years younger than I am, and there they stood in this bar with girls wall to wall, and all they did all night was to sip a few beers.
I popped one of my pain pills, had a couple of whiskey and coke, and I was dancing by myself standing by a tall table when this lady who was probably in her forties, walked over to me and took me by the hand out onto the dance floor.
We danced every song in the first set that the band played, and then during their break about four or five young girls in their twenties asked if I would come out and dance with them to the DJ musice that was playing. ( of course I did!!!!!)
It ended up that I drank six whiskey and cokes, and I danced every song that played that night, and that was including the DJ music!!!
One young lady asked me to teach her some of the dance moves I was doing, so being a gentlman I showed her, and she did fantastic!
During one of the bands breaks Katie ( she told me her name haha) and I did some dirty dancing and when we started there were four other couples on the dance floor, but as we danced the other couples gave us the entire floor so we could move more freely.
I swear Katie was like a siamese twin in that she moved with me as though we were joined at the hips. And OOOOOOHHHHH
BBBBOOOOOOYYYYY did we do some dirty moves!!!!
Later on at the end of the night the young ladies bought me last call and asked if I planned on coming back to the club next weekend.
Wow talk about being stunned!!! I was feeling like a million bucks that a bunch of young ladies were asking me to come back so we could dance some more!!!
Yeah what an ego booster!!!
My buddies never left the bar and never drank more than four beers apiece, and all of them were complaining about how tired they were, or how much they ached from being too old!!!
I then began to realize that even though I suffer greatly from a broken back, and hundreds of injuries over my years, I was in seventh heaven while I was on the dance floor!
Now the next day I was suffering from last nights antics, and my wife was teasing me to no end for thinking that I was still 17!!
Yes I told her of everything I did that night! She doesn't dance, drink, or smoke, but she lets me loose every once in a while because we trust eachother.(plus she knows those young girls may want to dance with me, but they surely wouldn't want to have to put up with me! haha)
It was then that I realized that I had an untrained mind!!!
My body is tortured with the pain from injuries suffered long ago, but when I am dancing I don't notice or feel the pain!
I'm damn near sixty and I just never trained my mind to think like I am old!
I am disabled to the point that I can't even go hunting anymore because I can't walk out into my woods!
But when it comes to dancing---I am as free as a bird!
Untrained, uninhibited, and unrestricted!!!
It too bad that I just not all that good at dancing ! hahahaha :D

it was such an exciting experience,haha,i have even never been in a dance!!i am really glad to know that you are happy and enjoying the happy moments!!! and please take me there if i get a chance in the future,haha
