the calm before the storm

The same day I wrote my last post T sends me an email that said:

"Who is Ty?"
On my ay home I'm freaking out just a little because, as I've said T is already really insecure. When I get there he doesn't mention it and I just pretended that I hadn't checked my email. Well finally when I'm about to go to sleep I mention it and tell him the truth, that Ty is just a friend at work and that I talk to him occasionally but that I'm not at all physically attracted to him, nor him to me, or at least he doesn't act like it. He just said okay and shrugged it off like he didn't understand what the big deal was.

Of course, that totally threw me for a loop because, well, I've been with this guy a while, I know him pretty well and it was really unusual. So for a week or two I continue to talk to Ty almost daily but erase most of the calls so that it looks like we only speak a couple times a week. After all I know my man, despite whatever fronts he tries to put on. Come to find out, about a week ago the sh*t completely hits the fan when I decided not to erase the following message and T decides to read it.

AJ: Whatcha doin?
Ty: Enjoyin my day off.
Aj: Anything exciting planned?
Ty: No i'm actually kind of bored
Aj: Well lets go get a pedicure.
Ty: Lol, let's not.
AJ: Why
Ty: I'd rather not thats why
(skipping some back and forth)
Ty: Well what would you do for me?

I didn't get a chance to get back to him. Now, I had a feeling that I should have erased this, not because I saw anything dirty in it but because I could see how that last line could be confused.

I took it as "well if I do something that girly you have to do something that I like to do like go to the gym." After all, if this guy was trying to get me in the sack we've been alone plenty of times and he could have easily made his move but he's never said anything out of the way or sexually implicit so I didn't take it there. T however did. He totally freaked out at like 3 am when he read it and shook me awake and yelled and yelled for like 20 minutes and then said that he would call Ty himself and left the room. At this point I was confused and a little dazed and really upset both at the situation and at the fact that I had to wake up for work really soon and I wasn't sleeping. Afterwards I told T that I felt like he was overreacting and i told him my interpretation of the message. I also told him that it was just a joke, which it was, and that I probably wouldn't really get a pedicure with Ty. I also told him that in all the times Ty and I have talked he never stepped out of line or disrespected me or my boyfriend. After that he calmed down and apologized for overeacting. He told me that he knew we were having our troubles lately and that he wasn't working and so that he was worried about this other guy who could so easily step in between us. I told him that there wasn't anything to worry about and that I loved him and would never cheat on him and then I finally went back to bed.

I'm not sure if T actually talked to Ty but Ty hasn't been calling at all lately. He is also working at a new store opening in a different city for a while though so that may be it. I guess I'll find out soon enough.
