So in a few days I will turn 21 and for the last month or so I've been trying to think of something exciting to do on the big day. Eventually I decided that I would really love to just go back home. I was born and raised in Massachusetts and dragged down south kicking and screaming by my mom my sophmore year in high school. My entire family, sans my mother and stepfather, is still there as well as all the friends I hold most dear, most of whom I've known since diaper days. My original plan was to rent a car on Monday, leave ridicoulusly Tuesday morning (day before bday) and drive the fifteen hours up to bean town with my boyfriend (he's currently unemployed and I can't afford to pay for round trip airplane tickets for the both of us). We would stay at my sisters place for about four days, and then drive back down. I haven't been there in about three years due to lack of proper finaces but I decided to splurge a little and spend some of my school loan leftovers to cover the charges.
At this point though I'm beginning to get a little worried. It's only five days until I'm supposed to leave and I've seen hide nor hair of my loans, it seems that there not going to be getting in until the beginning of next week. This unfortunate circumstance lead me to create plan B, just in case) in which I leave early morning the day of my birthday and fly solo to Boston. My boyfriend doesn't like plan b. I can understand why. He'd be stuck in the house for five days without a car or phone (his got shut off a little after he got laid off) At the same time though I'm really excited about seeing my home town and have been looking forward for it for a while now. I just can't pay for him to come and seeing that he currently doesn't have an income that would mean that he isn't going. Well now he's pissed and we're not talking. I feel like one of us is being really selfish here. I just don't know which one.

i am guessing its not you. ;p
it's your birthday. it's supposed to be your day.
so yeah, he's suppose to give you anything you want. so if you want to spend it with dear friends and family, he should understand. or if he wants to go, he should help himself find some resources. =)

Happy Birthday,you both need to decide what is more important. If it is important to you to be there the exact day,go. If it would be more fun together,wait. His sulking is not a good thing though, especially on your dime.
