 Today was good...
It's 11 PM and that means I've had 13 full hours of being awake and enjoying life.  Taking into account that I took the new cold medicine at midnight and the side effects didn't wear off until after 2 this afternoon, I feel the day was full of excitement.

During that time I enjoyed sleeping in, had lunch with my best friend, enjoyed the beauty of the day, worked in my gardens by pulling some weeds and cutting down bushes, went to a funny movie by myself, and enjoyed some fireworks with my family.

The lunch with Mike and his new girlfriend and her daughter was very interesting.  We ate at a pizza place in town and after waiting for a long time for the food we were charged 18% gratiuity due to having more than 6 people.  Mike was given the wrong ingredients on his pizza so she said he wouldn't have to pay, but when the bill came the pizza was still on  his check.  After arguing that point, he paid with cash and when she returned it had the wrong amount of change.  Almost 2 hours later we got out of there!

At home I continued to work on my flower gardens which right now seems like a forever ending task.  I took the lattice work off of the deck which was broken a year ago when babysitting Jake the escape dog.  Cut out all kinds of weeds, cut down bushes, etc. etc. etc.

I had originally thought of going to a chic flick tonight, but as the time was approaching I was thinking how much I needed a comedy break.  I showed up right as the movie started and enjoyed it so much.  There was a gentlemen in my show that was laughing really loud at the funny parts, which made the funny parts just that more funny!

My kids went to my nephew's birthday party this evening while I was at the movie and somehow I was not told that the kids were going to play in the splash pad.  Hmmm...whoops.  So, Joy who is starting to get sick was mad because daddy wouldn't let her in the water and Jackson came home in wet close and jumped on my lap to give me a hug.

After the fireworks my mom wanted to find some ice cream as a treat for all of us...every place was closed and then Joy fell asleep so that idea went up in smoke.

It was a great July 5...to just enjoy life.
