| The cold...got worse throughout the week
|

On Sunday I woke up in such a funk
With tired eyes and body aches.
On Monday i thought the cold was over
Until I woke up at two in the morning.
On Tuesday I wanted to stay in my pjs
But children state the mommy can't be sick.
On Wednesday I started by taking my temp
And popping Advil as directed on the label
By Thursday I was calling my doctor
Who started by asking "how I'm doin'?
I said I've felt better and she seemed to know
For when I coughed she could hear it in my lungs
The pain in my ears and my throat are all caused by this cough
So the prescription she wrote should fix it all
For the Fourth of July is my favorite
And my b-day's coming quickly
So all is well in the land of my cold
At least until the meds wear off.
