Welcome to spring, the calendar said.
The inches of rain reminded us all.
The inches of rain in my basement was a totally un-welcome visitor.
It walls that it creeped in, the floor it came up from
And my anger only made it stronger.
I sat throughout the evening on chairs taking naps
Holding the hose of my favorite Quiet Shop Vac 1350.
My first complaint is how un-quiet this machine is...
I suggest some ear plugs next time its used.
My second complaint is how much water, it really doesn't hold!
Every half an hour I was dumping my poor bucket.

The holes that were cut into the wall started shooting the water out farther
And my red machine of wonder was working hard to keep up the pace
Until at last I saw it stop...
The drainage was changed from one wall towards the drain.
And my miracle shop vac got to take a nap.
