My heart was once young and full of life
A teenager with no cares in the world.
I had that all important high school boyfriend
Who tended to break my heart.
Then I went to college and found the man I'd call my husband.
He and I had our own share of heartache
And i turned my heart off to the world.
So no one could find it.
I followed the plans I had always made
The ones that would fix my heart break.
I did them all and then one day I realized the list was complete
And the heart ache was even stronger.
I had opened my heart to one I believed in
And tried to fix the break.
I realized it was all in vain
But my heart knew all the better.
My heart hurts a lot today
I'm guessing the tear is still there
But one thing I'm learning about my heart
Is it's stronger when all together.
