The evening of smiles began close to 4
When the balls of energy (some call them my children)
Got picked up from daycare
And both had good days.
No time outs
No fights
Just simple days at daycare and school.
Daddy came home and off we went to the bank.
The kids were thrilled to know that the teller asked if they wanted a sucker
(Since I won't allow them to ask, they have to be asked)
Double score for them!
Grandma and Grandpa's was the next stop on the agenda
With two eager children to see what was in store
For its always a treat
To hang out with Gran.
The plan was to eat at the restaurant
But I made a quick stop
To pick up my new ring
That shines as bright as the stars.
Dinner came next
Without the horrible whines
Of my two little cuties
Who never, ever want to eat there. (anywhere I want to is where)
(i even got to eat dessert...how amazing is that?)
A surprise came next...near 6:00
With massages together.
So quiet the room was and relaxed I became.
(Even though she annoyed me with her cold fingers and total lack of deep pressure.)
My mind started to wander as I lay there in calm.
To the tea party that lingers as the weekend continues on.
For the love of my daughter I eagerly take up this task.
But the practice of patience is one she contiually lacks.
Our visit to the thrift store
Was fruitful this night.
For a teapot and cups found a way into my basket.
As well as a few other sweet goodies.
Picking up the balls of energy once again
I found them to be loving and sweet just the same
Whose children are these I have often wondered
For the good and bad moments are all the mom's fault.
I dropped them off safely before heading off
(Even though a few seemed to worry that I may not stop, just slow down so they can jump out.)
The store was my very last stop for the evening
And even that could not stop me
From smiling this evening.
