Before I had my children, I used to sleep in every day.
Now I get to sleep in, but 7 AM is a little earlier than I like
Before I had my children watching tv was my own decision
Now its a welcome friend as I try to get jobs done around the house.
Before I had my children I could lay anything down and know where it was when I went back.
Now if it's missing, I can usually find it on the floor, or in their rooms, or in another room.
Before I had my children I could brush my teeth and rinse with no fear
Now I have to check my toothbrush and my cup to make sure they didn't clean it for me...with handsoap.
Before I had children I thought my schedule was busy
And now my life revolves around spending time with them...the most important thing on my schedule.
Before I had children I was able to come and go as I please
Now I have to plan ahead of who is going to take the kids and how I'm going to get them there and who is going to feed them, and when to pick them back up.
Before I had children I couldn't understand why a crying child would bring panic to every other mom in a store.
And now, I feel bad for every mom who is dealing with a screaming, yelling child.
Before I had children I would miss meals here and there and eat when I wanted to
Now I have to figure out 3 meals a day and plently of snacks, which increases the grocery bill
Before I had children going to the grocery store was no big deal.
Now I go on Friday nights after the kids are in bed so I don't miss a moment with them.
BUT...
Before I had my children I thought that I knew everything
But they have taught me more about life then I ever knew was possible.
Before I had children I thought I knew what type of person I would turn out to be
Now I know that being a mom is who I've always wanted to be.
Before I had children I thought that I was the most important thing in the world
And now, hearing I love you mama from those sweet little lips is the most important thing in the world!
