Would you stay or would you go?

My bus journies continue......... Once I watched a young girl get on the bus and as she waited to get the ticket off the driver, her eyes rolled up and she keeled over...backwards !!! She fell straight out of the bus on to the pavement. Luckily the bus was still stationary. I visualised her head cracking against the pavement !! With my little medical training, i felt obliged to help. It was raining for dramatic effect. I gave her a quick examination. She was stunned but otherwise okay. I rang her home and asked her sister to take her home. I gave her hurried instructions about head injury symptoms, asking her to attend hospital if she experienced any. I then continued on my bus journey. The rest of the day I worried about if she was alright and wondered if I should have let the bus driver deal with it. I had nightmares about being sued for negligence. (She was fine the next day). What would you have done......stayed to help or walked away?

I think that the natural instinct would be to help, but then there are some that are so consumed by their daily life that they assume somebody else will help the people who really need it.

Why would you be sued for negligence? You helped her, didn't you?

I would have helped, damn the consequences. And those consequences have bitten me in the rear before, although I was never sued.

Definitely helped.
I know here in Texas I'm licensed to do CPR if needed... now mind you I'm scared to do it, I hope no one needs me to use it on them.
Should I have to do it and I end up hurting the person in the process, I am protected because I have my certification. Plus there's the good samaratin act, do you have that where you live?
