Glad to be back in the world....
I've been so cooped up the last couple of months.  So, tonight, I celebrate going to my doctor's appointment today.  My doc and all the staff are really nice.  And, getting into conversations with other patients was fun.  Even more fun was hearing the discussion of 2 gentlemen in the waiting room.    They were both veterans of the Korean war; one was slightly deaf, both with thick Alabama accents.  Korea was pronounced somthing like this KO (long O sound) - REAR. And,  I wasn't guilty of eaves dropping since it would have taken earplugs to block out their conversation.    The accents just added the sound of my youth which reminded me of great uncles, great aunts, and grandparents.  I grew up on my grandfathers farm and  have an Alabama accent as well, just diluted from my travels.

Another patient near us was like me, he just couldn't help but smile at the two.  In fact, with the anecdotes they were sharing, we couldn't help stifling a chuckle or two.  The thing is, he and I connected without saying a word.  Just mutually enjoying the conversation of the gentlemen speaking so proudly of their service to our country.  I pray that all of our veterans, new and old, have that feeling of pride.  If they had'nt been there for us, where would we be??

Please say thankyou to every allied soldier you know and keep them in your prayers.  I pray that every one of them grows old and takes pride in converstions with their fellow vets someday.  I want my children and grandchildren to be able to chuckle respectfully with them one day.

PS:  The operation last Wednesday went well.  I'm able to type already with my left wrist and the xrays today showed that the screw through both the bones pulled my ankle back together like we'd hoped.  Another month without weight bearing; he said I can put enough pressure to squash a grape.  Hopefully, next month, I can start physical therapy.

Everyone have a great day!

First time visitor. Saw this post on the "recent posts" and here I am. I'm glad your operation went well and you are on the mend. I got to wondering why you needed surgery and ended up reading all your posts. I fancy your warm friendly writing style and beautiful positive spirit. Also checked out the picture of you and your soul mate. Loved your happy smiles and the sky in the background was breathtaking. Hawaii is on my list of places to visit before I leave this earth. I want to stay at a place called Turtle Bay Resort.

Blogging takes a little getting used to. I have been here since December and most days feel like I'm just beginning the journey. I tend to be a somewhat organized person who likes things all neat and tidy. Once I realized that each post could be totally different in nature, writing, on thoughts, got easier. I share quotes ... song lyrics ... vent my frustrations and talk about my life and the lessons I have learned. I have written many things over the years and as I come across my writings I post them here so I can have everything in one place ... kind of like a portfolio ... much better than everything all over the place on scraps of paper.

Keep us posted on the creative writing class. I have always wanted to take one, but have yet to collect the courage. Take care of yourself. Peace.

Lol I took my son to the emergancy room one time and there was a whole bunch of black people talking about there whole life story real loud. They mentioned private things and I was shocked. There is no way I could have missed it or not heard it. It was so funny. Black people are so much funnier than whites because they speak thier minds more than we do it seems. Any ways back to people serving our country. I hate that we even have to fight. I hope and pray for our troops futures and pray that God will take care of them and thier familys.

Ps. I hope you recover from your sergery well and I wanted to ask if you would check out my blog. I am from Alabama too. It is strange because when I looked at your picture I thought you looked like you were from Alabama before I read your profile. Take care.
