Soon, I'll be another year older. I wish I could claim wiser. Seems like this year flew by so fast! I've always heard that this happens as you age. Also, I now fully understand the saying "youth is wasted on the young".
For me, my forties are the best time of my life. I've made decisions that were for my own well being, not that of everyone around me. After my divorce, I said I'd never marry again. "Never say never" is another cliche' I should remember more often. God saw fit to bring my soulmate to me when I was actively NOT Looking.  So, now, still ecstatically married, five years later, I'm looking for and grabbing every special moment of my life. He takes my breath away and I never knew what I dreamed until he was standing there looking at me. My best friend, lover, and other half of my soul.
The wisest thing I've learned in these years is to go for your dream! Don't settle for anything. Your timing is not that of whatever/whoever you call your higher power. All good and wonderful things are definitely worth the wait.

PS: I'm posting the picture of my husband and me. This was taken about 3 years ago. We've changed some in looks but the radiant happiness you see in our faces is the same. I wish you the peace and thrill of a relationship like ours.

Thank you! I celebrate each one. I've a motto, I've earned every grey hair, wrinkle, and age spot that I have so I'm gonna live it up. Just call me a Red Hatter in waiting :)

Thanks, Pita! Red Hatters wear red and purple at the same time!!! How fun! But, I'm holding off joining my aunts chapter since you have to be a Pink Lady until you reach the appropriate age (I don't remember what that is >grin<). I don't do pink. Red and purple however are two of my favorite colors. :)
I really enjoy reading your posts as well.
