If it was so great in Mexico, why do millions sneak across our borders to take advantage of the free-bees that we, in our stupidity, toll out. The largest cash venture of Mexico is oil. The second is money sent to Mexico by illegals in the United States. Yes, many of the vehicles are new...and thousands are stolen and driven across the border. Just check with the local police...they are probably driving some of them. Gangs are moving North out of Mexico,,,and so are drugs. I guess that is good for Mexico too.

Were these illegal immigrants at least deported?

IMMIGRATION….ITS NOT THAT HARD Winston Churchill once wrote: “A country without secured borders is not a sovereign nation”. Members of our government are much more interested in getting a large voting block than they are about the securing of our borders. As Americans we are shocked at the “sweat shops” of China, and yet we have businesses on our southern border that pack 25 people in a house…pay them $2.00 and hour and threaten to contact ICE if they say anything. No one wants to address the problem which is growing worse every day. By not making a decision…they in fact support what is going on. Thousands of vehicles every year stolen in the United States and being taken across the border for sale or chop shops. Women, and young girls and boys abducted in the United States and taken across the border to be sold in the sex-slavery market. It’ strange, that if one American soldier is taken hostage in Iraq, it is on every newscast on television but in Nuevo Laredo hundreds of Americans are missing or dead. There is a war on the Mexican border. Vehicles driving across unprotected areas bringing tons illegal drugs into the United States (some even escorted by Mexican military vehicles). Mexico is the largest provider of cocaine to the United States. Diseases such as Polio, Smallpox, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis, a variety of SDT’s and AIDS, growing at alarming rates (especially on border states) as they are brought across the border by-passing any medical screening prodicals. And of course in post 911 world where Islamic terrorists around the globe think they will be rewarded with 73 virgins by committing suicide to kill Americans….an insecure border is insane. Drug cartels and Mexican gangs are increasingly moving into the United States. Here is the solution to this problem. 1) A PHYSICAL BARRIER is absolutely necessary to stop the unhindered movement of not only people but vehicles. The wall would only give one message….”use the front door!!” Like a lock on the front door of your home, it won’t stop every thief, but what it does is slow it to a trickle..and make it manageable to police. It worked so well in California, that either they have to try and dig a tunnel..or go down to Arizona. The ONLY ones who do not want a wall are those who want to financially or politically prosper through illegal immigration. 2) A VIRTUAL FENCE is only effective if you have someone close enough to respond to an illegal intrusion. It is like having a monitored alarm system on your house but with the closest responding police and hour away. It won’t do you much good. As a physical barrier cannot be placed everywhere due to topography, a virtual fence only needs to be used where absolutely necessary. 3) After the border is secured, VISA processing centers would be set up all through the United States. Those here in the United States illegally would have 90 days to report to a processing center. At these centers they would ascertain: a. Proof of identity. Birth Certificate, Passport, Mexican consulate documents….something to determine their identity that can be verified. They would be photographed, fingerprinted and blood sample taken which will not only be used to determine whether they are bringing any communicable diseases into the United States but place a DNA profile on there permanent record. b. Do they have a criminal record? Check of US and Mexican police records and Interpol. c. Do they have a employer sponsor? This would force the employer to not only report there employment (an eliminate there abuse of there employees) but to pay required taxes and workman’s compensation. d. Brief physical examination. No entry into the United States if you have a communicable disease or if you are pregnant. Blood would be drawn. This would also eliminate those smuggling drugs into the United States in there bodies. e. Current address, phone, relatives and sponsors contact information. This puts the responsibility on the sponsor should they “disappear” in the United States. All candidates, that made it this far without being deported for no proof of identity, criminal history, diseases, or no sponsor…would be told to report to the “Processing center in 90 days for their VISA”. Failure to do so will result again in immediate deportation. This process will separate those who should be here… from those that shouldn’t. The fact is you cannot deport over 12 million people. But we can determine those that have a legitimate purpose for being in this country. This is a multifaceted approach which includes: Heavy fines for any company hiring a person illegally here in the United States ($10,000 per person). If they can’t find work…they won’t sneak in. Elimination of all anchor laws. If you are a French couple visiting Israel and you child is born there…is the child Israeli? No!! Yet we are so stupid we encourage hundreds of women who are pregnant to illegally come into the country so they can give birth on American soil…and then qualify for more free-bees than an American can get. Those States giving sanctuary and issuing Drivers Licenses to individuals here in the United States illegally would be told that if they do not change there policies…they will lose there federal funding to there State. And lastly eliminate all free-bees to illegal aliens..such as WIC, free housing, loans, food stamps, free medical, free public education ..etc. Right now they come here because they know that Americans are so stupid they can get every free-bee imaginable. There is no incentive for them not to risk life and limb to illegally enter into the United States.

I thought it was an interesting tradition about "boxing" up food after Christmas Dinner for the poor...but it has gotten a lot more commericalized heh?

Wow. You have had a tough time. My son came home from Iraq last year. He was married right before he left as his girlfriend was pregnant. Wil was born while he was on deployment. We took Julie in as our own daughter and my wife cut Wils cord. About 2 months after my son was home, he came back from work and found a note on the door...and Julie and Wil gone. The note said...I was unfaithful before you left and have continued to be unfaithful. I also just had a DNA test... and Wil is not your son. By son was so hurt...I worried he might try and take his own life. But his faith in God...and a close family..kept him going. I pray things will get better for you and God will send the right man into your life who will respect, honor and truely love you. God Bless.

Israel wants only one thing. To live. To exist. It is surrounded by 27 Islamic countires with over 600 times the land mass. The accomplishments to the world have been more than any other country om earth. especially in such a short amount of time. A little bit more than the arch..and an abacus. Israel is called on to give up everything....and the Islamic countries around them..and the Palestinians... nothing. They continue to deny Israel even has a right to exist...even though they are the only ones to actually have a country their in the past 3500 years. At the dispertion of Judah in 135 AD, their remained a remnant there. It became a province by whoever at the time took control...the Romans..the Byzantines, Arabs, Crusanders, Selijh Turks, the Ottoman Turks, and British Rule. After the loss of the of Germany (and their allies, the Ottomans), Palestine was partitioned..the area where Syria is to Islamic occupants.. and South of that to the Jews for Israel. The agreement was broken and a Palestinian State was created...called Trans-Jordon. Again they continued to cut it up and try to move the Jewish people into the sea..the Sinai and Gaza for Egypt, the West bank for Jordon...and the Golan for Syria. Finally it a last fight for survival, they declared their idependance in 1948...and were immediately attacked from all sides. But they still won. In the end Arab countries ended up with 85% of the terrortory that was promised to the Jewish people. Approximatel 1.5 million Jews were forced to leave the surrounding Arab countries and were absorbed by the new State of Israel. Almost 500,000 Arabs fled Palestine under the incouragement of the surrounding governments who promised them they would return with the destruction of the new Israel. Most never even saw an Israeli soldier, and most were refused a home in those countries. The wanted the refugees to be political pawns insteas of giving their brethren a home. The Jewish people still struggle daily...to survive. Here are just a fe of their accomplishments: Here is a capsule of accomplishments you may not be fully aware of. I thought you might find these statistics interesting. The Middle East has been growing date palms for centuries. The average tree is about 18-20 feet tall and yields about 38 pounds of dates a year. Israeli trees are now yielding 400 pounds/year and are short enough to be harvested from the ground or a short ladder. Israel, the 100th smallest country, with less than 1/1000th of the world's population, can lay claim to the following: The cell phone was developed in Israel by Israelis working in the Israeli branch of Motorola, which has its largest development center in Israel. Most of the Windows NT and XP operating systems were developed by Microsoft-Israel. The Pentium MMX Chip technology was designed in Israel at Intel. Both the Pentium-4 microprocessor and the Centrino processor were entirely designed, developed and produced in Israel. The Pentium microprocessor in your computer was most likely made in Israel. Voice mail technology was developed in Israel. Both Microsoft and Cisco built their only R&D facilities outside the US in Israel. The technology for the AOL Instant Messenger ICQ was developed in 1996 by four young Israelis. Israel has the fourth largest air force in the world (after the U. S, Russia and China). In addition to a large variety of other aircraft, Israel's air force has an aerial arsenal of over 250 F-16's. This is the largest fleet of F-16 aircraft outside of the U. S. According to industry officials, Israel designed the airline industry's most impenetrable flight security. U. S. officials now look to Israel for advice on how to handle airborne security threats. Israel's $100 billion economy is larger than all of its immediate neighbors combined. Israel has the highest percentage in the world of home computers per capita. Israel has the highest ratio of university degrees to the population in the world. Israel produces more scientific papers per capita than any other nation by a large margin - 109 per 10,000 people -- as well as one of the highest per capita rates of patents filed. In proportion to its population, Israel has the largest number of startup companies in the world. In absolute terms, Israel has the largest number of startup companies than any other country in the world, except the U. S. (3,500 companies mostly in hi-tech). With more than 3,000 high-tech companies and startups, Israel has the highest concentration of hi-tech companies in the world -- apart from the Silicon Valley, U. S. Israel is ranked #2 in the world for venture capital funds right behind the U. S. Outside the United States and Canada, Israel has the largest number of NASDAQ listed companies. Israel has the highest average living standards in the Middle East. The per capita income in 2000 was over $17,500, exceeding that of the UK. On a per capita basis, Israel has the largest number of biotech startups. Twenty-four per cent of Israel's workforce holds university degrees -- ranking third in the industrialized world, after the United States and Holland - and 12 per cent hold advanced degrees. Israel is the only liberal democracy in the MiddleEast. In 1984 and 1991, Israel airlifted a total of 22,000 Ethiopian Jews at risk in Ethiopia, to safety in Israel. When Golda Meir was elected Prime Minister of Israel in 1969, she became the world's second elected female leader in modern times. When the U. S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya was bombed in 1998, Israeli rescue teams were on the scene within a day -- and saved three victims from the rubble. Israel has the third highest rate of entrepreneurship -- and the highest rate among women and among people over 55 - in the world. Relative to its population, Israel is the largest immigrant-absorbing nation on earth. Immigrants come in search of democracy, religious freedom, and economic opportunity. Israel was the first nation in the world to adopt the Kimberly process, an international standard that certifies diamonds as "conflict free." Israel has the world's second highest per capita of new books. Israel is the only country in the world that entered the 21st century with a net gain in its number of trees, made more remarkable because this was achieved in an area considered mainly desert. Israel has more museums per capita than any other country. Medicine... Israeli scientists developed the first fully computerized, no-radiation, diagnostic instrumentationfor breast cancer. An Israeli company developed a computerized system for ensuring proper administration of medications, thus removing human error from medical treatment. Every year in U. S. hospitals 7,000 patients die from treatment mistakes. Israel's Givun Imaging developed the first ingestible video camera, so small it fits inside a pill. Used to view the small intestine from the inside, the camera helps doctors diagnose cancer and digestive disorders. Researchers in Israel developed a new device that directly helps the heart pump blood, an innovation with the potential to save lives among those with heart failure. The new device is synchronized with the heart's mechanical operations through a sophisticated system of sensors. Israel leads the world in the number of scientists and technicians in the workforce, with 145 per 10,000, as opposed to 85 in the U. S., over 70 in Japan, and less than 60 in Germany. With over 25% of its work force employed in technical professions. Israel places first in this category as well. A new acne treatment developed in Israel, the ClearLight device, produces a high-intensity, ultraviolet-light-free, narrow-band blue light that causes acne bacteria to self-destruct -- all without damaging surrounding skin or tissue. An Israeli company was the first to develop and install a large-scale solar-powered and fully functional electricity generating plant, in southern California's Mojave desert. All the above while engaged in regular wars with an implacable enemy that seeks its destruction, and an economy continuously under strain by having to spend more per capita on its own protection than any other country on earth.

Just to clear some facts. George Bush's home is probably the most "green" house in America. First it is heated through Geothermol energy. All rain water excess is deverted to cisterns for use later on lawn or garden. Wind turbines and fans are all solor generated. Special glass, insulation and passive solor truly make it a wonder. Its was designed by students at Texas A&M. Al Gore's house though uses more electriciy in one month that mine does in an entire year. Al Gore owes a fleet of SUV's and flys on a private jet that does much more damage to the atmposhere than anything I can ever do. You need also to pull up the British Governments decision regarding Al Gore's movie being shown in their public schools. After a thorough investigation they found 9 major blatent lies on the film. The judge ruled that if the film was to be shown in a public school a disclaimer would have to be sent home with the child or it was nothing more than propaganda. More and more scientists are jumping off the "global warming" band wagon as they begin to really look at the evidence. Don't get me wrong, we should be good stewards of the planet..after all it is our home...but the climate changes are cyclic...and have much more to do with solar than anything thing we do. We produce only 4% of the CO2. And if every country kept the Kyoto agreement..scientists admitt it would change nothing. There have been times when we have had higher amounts of CO2 in our atmosphere and more particulate matter and still the temperatures were much colder. Many scientists are theorizing we are coming up on another ice-age....or at least a mini-ice age like the one that froze the Thames in the 1600's....and turned greenland..into a winter wonderland.

I thought I would comment just to straighten out some of your "facts". Since early in the first century there was a desire to celebrate the birth of the Messiah by those who in Antioch were first called Christians. The problem was that gathering together in a celebration was a dangerous thing to do. The church was under terrible persectution by the Roman Empire from 64 AD with Nero...all the way to the Edict of Milian in 313 AD. The most severe was under Diocleation at the end of the third century and the begining of the 4th. Under his edict Christians gathering together or possessing any Christian writings was punishable by death. Now during the year there were a number of pagan festivals, usually following the harvests and lunar cycles. One of them, the Roman feast of Saturnalia, was held during the winter solstice. They already had a festival in April ..Resurection Day..later called Easter. The Jewish festival of Hanahka is held in Kislev 25 which is pretty close to our December 25th. By celebrating at the same time others were celebrating there pagan festivals...the Christians did not stand out and relieved them of much additional persecution. After the conversion of Anglo-Saxons in England from their polytheism in the very early 7th centurym Christmas was called geol, which is the name of the native pre-christian Germanic solstice festival. From geol...the current English word "yule" is derived. The prominence of Christmas Day increased gradually after the crowing of Charlemagne on Christmas Day, 800AD. The earliest writing referring to the celebration of Christmas is 354 AD which speaks of Epiphany as January 6th....12 days after Christmas Day. Tradition says that was the time between his birth and the arrival of the Magi bearing gifts for the newborn king. Regardless of the inclusion of traditions and paraphenalia many from different cultures and times.... Christmas has always been about the birth of God's son. The evergreen represented eternal life... the Yule log..warmth, home, family...Mistletoe..life and prosperity, Santa from the Saint Nicholus, a man of great compassion who gave all he had to those in need.

I am just wondering...have you ever looked into Mormanism? Like other groups..Jehovah Witness, Scientology..etc, they are not allowed to question or research any information except what is given by their Elder. This is basically it (from the "Doctrine of Covenants").. Once upon a time...in a universe far, far away..their was a man named Elohiem..who became a God...on a planet called Kobar. He had a wife who was eternally pregnant...and had millions of spirit children. One day on the planet..Eloheim decided that his children should also have the right to become Gods too...so they would make a planet called Earth...and the Morman spirits would inhabit the bodies of these humans. At some time their would need to be a Savior..although they never defined sin. So they had a vote. The eldest brother Jesus won the vote for savior. Jesus brother, Lucifer became so angry about loosing the vote that he and those that voted for him..became demons. But those who refused to vote where cursed.... and became black. That is why until recently...with a new revelation...there were no black Mormons as they were the cursed race. Mormonism is a classic "christian" cult. They use the name Jesus..but he is not the Jesus from the Bible. Joesph Smith did exactly what the authors of the Bible said NOT to do. "He who adds or detracts one word of this book of prophesy...his name shall be removed from the book of life." Paul said, "If anyone comes to you with any other gospel..be he man or angel..let him be accursed." Mormon missionaries are not told any depth into the Doctine of Covenants..or temple rituals until they are well endoctinated. They are not issued a temple pass until even later. Jospeh Smith was a 33 degree mason and incorporated the masonic rituals directly into the temple rites. He did not even change the names...they are identical..same 5 points of fellowship, same pass words, same penal sign...all identical. He knew this would be a great draw into his own new religion. There are two things you will not find in Mormonism....a Mormon linguistic expert and a Mormon Archeologist. The fact that there are no root words of the Hebrew language in any central and south american languages is enough to totally flush the book of Mormans belief that the lost tribes of Israel came across the sea and established great cities in Central America. That and the cities talked about are known by every archeologist on earth not to have existed. If you really love this guy...love him enough to tell him the truth. Unless..ignorance really is bliss

Actually the creation of law by the legislature is irrelevant if they are not enforced. Our problem is not that we need more laws but that we need to enforce those we have. (and, yes there are some we need to be rid of) Much of our modern judiciary believes in the concept of judicial review. They believe that there job is not to adjudicate the law but to legislate law from the bench. The purpose of the balence of powers as explained in the "federalist papers" was to prevent a usurpation rights and powers not granted by the electorate. Wheather a person believes in "Wade vs Roe" , it was a perfect example of the judiciary making law without consent of the governed. And that is only one of hundreds of examples of our system of government being taken out of the hands of its citizens.

Ron Hubbard was a prolific science fiction writer...but not a very good one. Like a science fiction mill, he turned out a novel about every three months. At a convention in Chicago, he was sitting at a table with other SF writers (Issac Azzmoff, Robert Silverberg, Paul Anderson..and others) and he said, "You know if you want to make money...don't write science fiction...start your own religion." Several years later he came out with his book, "Diatenics". He had already been leaking out that he was now in contact with an ancient alien intellegence that was showing him the true path. Basically scientology is a UFO Cult. Ron Hubabard teached that he was guided by the spirit of an ancient alien consiousness. That at one time these aliens (Thetans) were on earth. During a "purge" of there population many were thrown into active volcanoes to there death. Now their "Thetan" spirits are within us..but we can only find who we truly are if we peal off the negative engrams (much like Karma)..until we are "all clear". For a Price!! And then we will find ourslves as Gods. Still bad science fiction. To sell this you needed to things 1) People with a lot of money and 2) People who are not very bright, mentally disturbed or living in a fantacy world. HOLLYWOOD!! A perfect place to find people rich and stupid. A typical cult with control mechanisms built in to prevent you from talking with others outside the cult, disfellowship for anyone that speaks against it...and big time lawyers ready to sue you.

Hi..I graduated from Glenbard East HS in Lombard in 1971. Lived at 802 S. Grace. It is neat to find someone else from my home town. Left for college (Monmouth) after HS and then the Air Force. It seems like so long ago. Parents are both gone now. I wonder if it looks the same. Have not been back in 20 years. Journeyman
