Three Buccos taken off of 40-Man Roster
Just an offseason news story. These will become in more frequently.

As the Pirates continue to shape out their 40-man roster for Spring Training, they dropped three more names from that list on Friday. Right-handed starter Virgil Vasquez, and right-handed reliever Eric Hacker were both optioned to AAA Indianapolis, while catcher Steve Larud was sent to AA Altoona. This now leaves the Pirates with 36 players on their 40-man roster, not including Evan Meek and Jose Ascanio who are currently on the 60-day disabled list, and plan on returning once they are taken off which leaves 2 open spots on the roster that will be filled in the upcoming months.
