| My mother, my best friend.

I am not sure how many of you can actually say that your mom is your best friend. I am proud to say that I can. Over the years we have had our ups and downs but as I got older I have developed a close knit feeling to this special lady. This blog is very important to me as well. The reason is my mom is sick and is not feeling well. I pray on a regular basis that she gets better. I go through moments of crying and moments of being angry and upset. Most important I want her to be the lady I once knew. This may only occur in my head at this point.
For most of my life my mother was my pillar of salt. My strength, my backbone but now the tables have turned and I have to be those things for her. Let me tell you it is not easy. I feel that someone has switched parents on me. What happened to the mom I once had? My role model.
Here is what happened.. She started not feeling well back in September. I went to visit her and spent most of my time in the hospital with them trying to diagnose her. She has been in and out of hospitals and doctors since then. She is in constant pain from top to bottom. Since I am in NJ and she is in another state it is very difficult for me to be there. I do not like this because I want to know what is going on. I am thankful that she has friends that tell me what is happening. I speak with her on the internet and once in a blue moon on the phone. She get winded after talking for a long time. The doctor's state that they are doing whatever they can do for her. This week she is going for more tests and hopefully she will get better.
Like I said earlier I am going to be 41 years old next month and I was supposed to go on vacation with my mom but it looks like my vacation and time will be spent by going to keep my best friend in the whole wide world company.
Please say your prayers.
If you want to share your feelings please respond.

I hope that your mom gets well soon. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you." (Psalm 55:22)

I came across your blog, and i can so relate. my mom and i are best friends. I'm 37 yrs old and we have always gotten along. we do lots of things together. this past month has been rough. first we thought she was having heart problems, evrything checked out ok, then possible anxiety attacks from some depression, we thought. last week, we took her to ER, as she was not herself. we found out she has an inoperable brain tumor. i am crushed. lost. devastated. we find out in the morning what our treatment options are. reading your blog made me think of my mother and the awesome relationship we share.
i hope your mom gets to feeling better soon.
