 thanksgiving over, horah.

Hello Journal,

It has been a while since I have written anything.  I guess there wasn't anything worth mentioning on my mind.  Or perhaps I wasn't interested in having others know about them.

This past thanksgiving was fun, and interesting as they always are.  The family and extended family go together at the same place, my grandmothers house (dead grandmother) and we had lots and lots of food.  There was the usual laughter, and fighting.......democrats against republicans.  My cousins and sister all gathered at one table and raced each other as to who can fart the loudest and longest and how many time, while the women gathered at another table and discussed home decorating.  Every year my, i guess you could call her extended cousin, comes up from waco to visit and she normally has a new girlfriend with her when she does.  This time was different, she came what appeared half drunk and had a giant cowboys football logo painted on her face. I sat and watched with amazement at the conversation she was having with my cousin.  She was recapping how he had taken my grandmothers truck and had a "blow out" with it, basically it caught on fire then blew up.......it wasnt that long ago actually.....i believe this summer.  I never knew that.  but then again, it doesn't surprise me.......i always thought he would be good on the bomb squad......or really the one who is making bombs.  ha.

Certain members of the family chose not to come due to the nature of some of our families lifestyles.  Being my dead gay grandmother was the only one they would tolerate, after she died, they did not have interest being around anyone who lived an alternate lifestyle than their own.  (of course i have seen their rich, money-filled way of living, and I must say i am happy to be where I am)

this year was different, we did not all get drunk like lat year and have a twenty minute fight over which way the fan was rotating on the ceiling.  Yes that is true, twenty mother friggin minutes last year.  instead, this year the entire family got food poisioning.  Everyone spent this entire weekend in bed acting as though they were on their death bed.  I was lucky not to get food poisioning.  I didnt really eat much from the "experimental food table."  Like my aunts buttermilk pie......it is great, but she always has to try something different, and this year, I dont know what it is, but it tasted so sweet, i believed my teeth would rot out right then and there.  I believe it also gave me gas, because I spent ten minutes after eating it spewing it all in the air.........luckily my cousins were happy to help in that department.  Even the dogs were getting sick from the smell.

Yup, holidays with my family are always the most interesting, stressful, and so much fun.  I have to say, I complain when i have to get together with the family, but actually enjoy it.  Be it as it may be, half our family are froot loops, I still love them very very much.  God bless them.

 til next time
