Well all heard how life has its charming bonuses. Our mothers or grandmothers told us how when we work hard the little time afterwards always satifies our cravings for a free-spirited moment with joy and happiness. Thinking of those times as a child, and looking at what life offers today, I have to admit I can't always see the positive.
We work hard in this world; those who believe in getting ahead anyway. We spend most of our days at work or school, communicating with our fellow colleagues and students in regards to the duties and responsibilites related to very reason we are there. Afterwards, we head home to the few hours we have left of the day to visit with friends or family, watch movies, eat supper, or just sit and reflect on what happened to us and what we learned either about ourselves, or about others. It is those short times we may call the charming bonuses of life. We get paid for our services and time to the workforce and then are able to spend some of those earnings on good food and entertainment.
But what about those times when we don't feel so free. I have found most people don't feel so free-spirited at all. In fact, they, along with myself, spend those times doing what I have mentioned but with the next day weighing on their mind. When I have a meeting to attend, or a problem arose from out of nowhere and I have to handle as best I can while the managers are out, I can't help but wonder if what I did was right and whether or not I will be penalized for the decisions I have made. I can go to a good cafe with some friends and have a few laughs, but during those times I still can't help but wonder what will come of the next day.
We live in a primitive time. The world has its many views. For the simple people who slave for others, they would either expelled or put to better use.
I suppose the charming bonus of life is the largely preached after life we are promised in return for our services to God on this dear but lost planet. True, there are many more, families, friends and so on, but not all can say they have good family, or good friends. Surely there is a charming bonus which can be shared by all who have ever walked this earth; or is life just too complicated for such a thing?
Until next time,
J.
