Ok, first I will admit it. I voted for George Bush. What's even worse is I did it twice. There, I said it. Now I can breathe again.
I will say right from the start that I am no expert on politics. I will say that I am very disappointed with the state of our country, and even as a Republican, I put much of the blame on the current administration.
So what do we do now? What choice do we have? Do we have another Republican come in and keep the status quo? I am not a supporter of either of the Democrat front runners. However, this country needs a fresh change. These folks can quite possibly provide that much needed change.
Ok, what then? Do I vote against the party I've supported for years? Do I vote for a party that I have always (and still do) disagreed with much of what it has stood for? Do I not vote at all?
After reflecting on it, I quickly decided that I will not sacrifice the freedom to vote that this country allows us. Three ideas then came up...prayer, prayer, and more prayer. I don't know what to do. But there is a God in heaven that knows exactly what this country needs, and who the person is that will bring it about. At that point I felt a surge of confidence and peace about the situation. Leading up to the election, I will continuously pray that God brings the proper candidate to victory. Even if it is not my choice, I will have the peace of knowing that the right person is there.
Isn't the peace of God wonderful? I pray that you experience it regularly this week. Enjoy
