First of all, I am really enjoying this Blog site even more than I thought I would. What started as a place to jot down and share some ideas on a weekly basis, now has me thinking and reflecting on all types of things. As my brain cells are slowly disappearing, I feel the need to jot my thoughts down here more often, unable to wait a week to do so.
Anyway...the faith thing. God is really probing me on this issue. The issue of confidently coming to Him in prayer, and having the faith to expect His goodness and His answers to my prayers according to His will.
Through some guidance by preachers, and by own past reflections, I have written some significant "faith and assurance verses" in the Bible. I have known these verses for years. However, knowing them, and living them are two different things. It is in recent weeks that I feel God is really prompting me to do the latter. I am seeing the importance to not only "know" these verses, but to live them and act with the full awareness of their importance and reality. I can already see a difference in the confidence of my actions, and the positive reactions from those around me.
Here's a list of a few of them. There are many more, but these are the ones most on my heart these days. Please feel free to share those that have made or are making a difference in your life:
- Mark 11:24 - I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
- Matthew 21:22 - If you believe, you will receive anything you ask for in prayer.
- Romans 8:31 - If God is for us, who can be against us?
- Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
- Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
As I mentioned, it is amazing how much I've seen this work in the past couple of weeks. Commit your desires, plans, and obstacles to the Lord and see the wonderful things He can do.
God Bless
