Wow, it's been a while! Now any readers I have can see how lazy and unmotivated I sometimes am. I'm not proud of that trait, but I'm working on it
Part of the reason for my absence is that my family and I took a week-long vacation to Florida from February 16-24. One question that is always asked when we take a long trip like that is...are you flying or driving?
It's an interesting, logical question, but one very easily answered. There is no doubt that I prefer to drive. Our goal is to get to Florida (the faster the better). However, there are so many great things to see along the way. It is also a great way to enjoy family time, start traditions, etc. For example, on a previous long trip, my family and I decided to stop at one attraction per day. We also only choose hotels with an indoor pool and free continental breakfast. When we arrive in Florida, we must stop at the Welcome Center and drink our free orange juice. These things, though small, are sometimes as fun and memorable as the time spent at our destination.
I try to use this philosophy in life too. We have many goals that we want to accomplish. And we will. I know we will reach those "destinations" by God's help. But in the meantime, why not enjoy the journey along the way...the lessons learned, the growth, new strength, greater perspective, and anything else along the way. On many occasions, these are just as significant and rewarding as reaching the goals.
Enjoy the journey
