| Muscle car may become dinocars (extinct)

General Motors announced today that the Corvette and other popular selling muscle cars may be a thing of the past eventually with the passing of this new energy bill that forces car maker to raise the mpg on cars of the future.
My husband says that the actual mpg will not be raised all that much because the formula used is based on the energy bill of 1973.
I wouldn't mind these cars being fazed out along with the big SUVs and other vehicles that guzzle gas. We have known for decades that the supply of oil has limits, but no one paid attention. Now, hopefully everyone will sit up and suppport any effort to reduce gas fuel consumption.
I like the Mini, but here in America, I would be crushed to smitherenes if I got hit by any of the big cars or utes out there on the road.
