Day 4
I was really tired going into class again today, however, now that it is over, I feel relaxed, but not exhausted.

One of the things I learned in all of my reading about Bikram yoga is that various aches and pains, even more serious sports related injuries etc can be healed.  I have had some knee pain for several years now and recently have begun to have some lower back pain.  Both of these pains are manageable and dont stop me from working out or being active.  Mostly they are just annoying, but occasionally, they are more painful.  So, one of the things I hope to get from this class is relief from back and knee pain.

Having said that, the past two days my back has hurt more than ever before.  We do a lot of back work in class, so I am hoping that the increase in back pain is due to weak back muscles just feeling sore from all the work.  Let's hope, right?

But on a more positive note, today's class seemed to go by very quickly and the room seemed cooler.  They say you eventually get used to the heat and even learn to enjoy it.  I dont know about that.  I can't imagine ever liking that heat, but it was more tolerable.  For sure, today was the first day I really noticed the whole thing feeling more doable.  And it came on a good day.  After two days of feeling so tired on my way to class, I was feeling a little overwhelmed and like I have taken on something too big.  But I have a renewed sense of confidence after today's class.

So, here's to progress.  No matter how small, it's great to be able to recognize and appreciate your accomplishments.
