This is the week that benchmarking tests are given in core subjects. Please be respectful of this and be extra quiet in the halls and in class. Wednesday is TAKS so Seniors do not have to be in school until 5th period. Lucky dogs. Today's blog: My friend teaches in Amarillo. Her school is having prom on the Friday night of TAKS. So the students will be taking the test all day and then prom is that evening. Do you think it would be hard for you to concentrate on testing if prom were just a few hours away? Do you think this will affect the scores? |

I think it would be very hard to concentrate and it would affect the grade a lot.

Yes I think it would be very hard to concentrate because you would be so anxious to go to prom and you would not be worried about the TAKS test. It would maybe affect some of the people's scores.

I think it would be hard to concentrate because people would be excited but it might make the students try harder so they can just be over with and go to prom. It would probably affect grades either way.

well ya for the girls it would be hard becasue they would be thinking about getting ready and crap like that but i dont think it would be that hard for the boys because they dont really care that much about prom....

I think for some it may be hard to concentrate. But the ones that think prom is no big deal, it probably wont bother them.

It wouldn't affect me at all. I guess if the kids cared a lot about prom, they would find it hard to concentrate and the scores might not be as high as usual.

Having prom to distract us from prom might be good because it would relieve us of the pressure of TAKS.

It would be hard to concentrate but then that night, you could let out a lot of built up stress.

Yes it would be hard because everyone wants to go leave for prom, and they will rush to finish the TAKS test and not do it good
