| I feel very blessed to be loved by more than one person and therefore cannot pick the "single greatest" act of love. I know that even at my age, my parents still perform acts of love for me on a regular basis. My mother's willingness to absolutely drop EVERYTHING and come stay with me when I've needed her is probably one of the acts of love that means the most to me. My dad confiding in me things that I never knew he even thought of while sitting outside watching the sunrise this past summer was an amazing act of love. My 92 year old Granny still makes me my favorite meal everytime I go visit her, despite the fact that she really doesn't cook much anymore. My kids being super excited about giving me a Valentine's gift this morning was an extremely heart-warming act of love. This is only icing on the cake for other things that they have done to show their love for me. (This is the best b/c it is so innocent and genuine.) And finally, my husband being extremely overprotective and driving me nuts but later explaining that he just wants me to be safe because he couldn't live without me. I know that I've kind of cheated on this one, but everyone's different and regardless of how different the acts of love are, they are all extremely meaningful based on the person who's delivering. | I know this is a blog to HS kids, so I wanted to just add that listen, that girl or guy you "love' may not love you but you will find love one day. I know it seems like the worst thing, especially today, but in a week, a month, a year, you will not even care that Jill or John said they would not go out with you. But that you love them anyway now, is a great act of love. Sorry if I was a lil off topic but thought the kids needed to hear that. |
