December 14 Tradition

This is the last blog of the year. Can you believe how quickly this semester has passed? As we approach Christmas I have been thinking about family traditions. My parents were not big on traditions though there are a few that have stayed over the years. We always put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving. My mother loves Christmas music so this is the only time of year that music could be heard in our house regularly. Once when my nephew was about 3 or 4 he wanted to sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and blow out a candle. I thought that would be a great one to keep but it didn't stick. What tradition does your family have? Do you intend to keep those traditions with your own family? What does the tradition mean to you? Do you open your gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

I want to take this opportunity to tell you what you mean to me. This semester has been an honor and a privilege getting to know each of you. You are such a bright and fun group of kids. You should know that you are loved. Be safe during our time apart. May the reason for the season fill your life with love.

		My family opens presents on christmas eve and "santa's" presents on christmas morning.

		We usually go riding around town and look at all the Christmas decorations. We have been doing this since I moved to Rosebud. I open my gifts on both days because I go to like four houses for Christmas.

		My family always says we are going to open one present on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas morning, but we already know its a lie, because every year we open almost all of them on Christmas Eve.

		we open the presents on christmas eve. But wake up to open even more presents on Christmas morning and yes i will keep thses traditions going in my family

		The only one that we would have is that on Christmas Eve my family gets together and we eat supper.

		We put up the Christmas tree after Thanksgiving, and a tradition that we have is that we eat dinner on Christmas Eve, and open gifts on Christmas morning.

		We alwayz go to whoevers house they want to have it at so we really dont have a set place to go but when i was little we used to go to my grannys and spend the night over there and eat breakfast then go to our houses and open gifts then come back later for whatever. but we alwayz pick names so we have to get people gifts.

		Every year we go to my dad's parents' house then we go home and when we get home at like 2 or so, us kids decide whether we want to open the gifts then or go to sleep and open them early before we go to my mom's moms' house to eat breakfeast and open gifts with that side of the family.

		We open half on Christmas Eve and half on Christmas. And we always go to my aunts to eat sometimes.

		Every year we go to my grandma's house and have a party there on christmas eve. Then we open presents. My family and I open presents on christmas morning.

		Well we put our tree up the day after christmas and we always open our gifts at midnight on christmas eve... I would like to tell you what an honor it is to have had you as a teacher this year....Its been a blast!!!!lol

		We open our Christmas presents Christmas eve, then on Christmas morning we go to church and then open our presents from "santa".

		we open presents on Christmas morning usally but this year my mom has to work so i dont know when we are going to open presents. Our tradition is going to see Christmas lights the day before Christmas. Yes i am going to keep that tradition

		we used to get to open one small present on christmas eve an the rest on christmas morning (or night, it depended if my dad was at work or not). but we dont do any of that anymore

		My mom's side of the family all gets together on Christmas eve and opens presents. I open one or two on Christmas eve and the rest on Christmas day.

		Every year I go to my grandma's house and we have a Thornton Christmas. That tradition will probably end soon though. We open our presents on both Christmas Eve and Christmas morning.
