| USS New York |
I saw a news story today about the new ship that was built using steel from the World Trade Center. She is a beautiful ship in her own right, but she also sends a perfect message.
First of all, she is a warship. It symbolizes our committment to getting justice for the victims by hunting down terrorists and making war on them the way they made war on us. She is a ship that carries Marines. The type of ship is used to support strikes by combat Marines on enemy locations by air or by sea. They could have built a cruiser or a battleship or a carrier, but they would have not sybolized the personal war we must wage the way an LPD does.
So, I want to praise the Navy for getting right this time. The USS New York is a beautiful techological marvel that hits just the right note for me.
