| The Gang Rape |
We have become a pretty timid society. People see something horrible happening and they do nothing. They don't have to try to stop it, but they could at least call the police to help the girl. Getting involved is a hard thing to do, but what kind of society do we have if we isolate ourselves and refuse to help others in trouble?
If someone had said something, would they have become a victim, too? I don't know, of course, but I would rather be nursing a lump or two than living today knowing I could have helped and did nothing. Maybe the gang of boys would have stopped and run away if people watching had done the right thing.
Some on the news channels are saying that we need more laws to make reporting a crime manditory. IT is a sad commentary on our society when we need to codify doing the right thing, But, judging by what happened,. maybe we do.
So it goes.
