Shame & The Price of Freedom

We know that shame is a very real fear in most of us. I did not want people to know just how, bad, mad, sad, twisted, broke, busted, and discusted I was with my life. CAN YOU RELATE? The shame is easier to deal with if it is internalized and kept secret we believe. For this very reason God sent Jesus to the cross to die for our sins. I can confess my sins to Jesus without FEAR of CONDEMNATION. HE IS A SAFE CONFESSOR FOR ALL!!! Jesus set the hooker free when the truth of her secret life came out into the open. Can you imagine the shame she felt standing there before Jesus after being caught red handed in the act? Put yourself in her shoes for a minute. Then let us see Jesus walk up to us as we expect judgement and say; "You are forgiven. Go and sin no more. I do not condemn you. The risk of shame far outweighs the burden of our secrets.

God help us all

Jim

Thought for the day: I am only as sick as my secrets. How sick am I willing to be or be set free from my sickness (HHH)
