| smile? for hope of healing

my friend has a story unwilling to tell
her smiles will fool you
her eyes will deny,
the sorrows she has suffered,
the burses she would hide
her sweet laugh is all you hear when you are around her,
but deep down inside she cries,
hating to be touched or given a hug
she just keeps on smiling like nothings gone wrong.
there’s no safe place for her
no good embrace she wants to endure.
she is content with denying and hiding
the truth that never stops surprising
not wanting to face her scares which are bleeding
in hope that they will one day be healing
in the end she will just pretend the everything is great
