In the country we live in you see people everyday, doing everyday thing, who you think are normal and American. How do you really know what Americans are? You see everyday people, some with families and assume they are American. Is there even such thing as Americans?
America is full of many different types of cultures and races of people because of this it is hard to identify whose American and who isn’t. “But I am not tragically colored. There is no great sorrow dammed up in my soul, no lurking behind my eyes. I don’t mind at all.” by Zora Hurston. People who came to America were looking for a new life or for other reasons; some were forced to come to America with out a choice. These people are American’s. There are many types of Americans and this is only one type. Some people are full of sorrow and others just go on with life with an out look that people are all the same no matter where you came from or what you like. Americans are people who believe in freedom and want and need it.
The land we live in is full of American people, but who are we? “Send these, homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” The Lady Liberty is the door to the people in need. That is who we are; people that are homeless, poor and tired. We the people came for many different reasons. I could only speak Spanish but still be a complete American. This means that people who live in America are Americans if we are citizens.
Our country is people that live in America and support our country in one way or another. People are for all over and that makes no difference if you want to be an American. Americans are all sorts of people but we are people who are one as a country.
