| I've gotten myself engaged! =^}

I'm in love with Shannon Zitzelberger (I know, crazy name), and I've decided to marry her. I've been thinking that way for a while now. Anyway, I ordered a nice ring, specially made for her, and I bought some snow on eBay. Artificial snow, that is. You see, she's been anxious for Christmas to come. Since snow is scarce on hot days in May, I figured it was a good time to experiment with the fake stuff. I mixed an eight-gallon batch of fluffy white polymer snow and put it on a tarp in my back yard. I tied a cardboard star to a large weed and called it a Christmas tree.Then I put a gift in a box and wrapped the box in Cars (the Disney movie) wrapping paper. The gift was the picture I made for her --seen in my last post--, in a spiffy little frame made by Santa's elves at Target. I also decorated a gift bag with pirate stickers and put a home-made card in it that said:"SUCKER!...No gift here. I was going to attach a cimmanim lollipop, and it was going to be funny, but Blitzen got hungry.--Santa.P.S. Arrrrgh." Next, I put both the bag and the wrapped box in a slightly larger box and wrapped that box. I put a large red bow on it and labeled it "For: SHANNANANON!" (That's what they call her at work, I had learned.) And I made a little card, which I taped to the wrapper, that said: "Hey, hey, hey! He-he-he, Ho ho ho!...Merry Christmas, babe.You make my heart happy. --Jeremy. Er, Santa." I put the present under the tree, along with a bag of apples and oranges and a big ol' pineapple addressed to me. (I pretty much always get a pineapple for Christmas, and I wanted this to feel authentic.) I had asked Shannon out on a hot date with the details unspecified. She said she didn't like surprises, and she tried to get out of me what we were doing, but I wouldn't tell her. When I picked her up for our date --which was on Wednesday, May 7--, she looked as pretty as ever, in her black outfit with red trim. When she wears it, I think she looks like an MV Agusta F4 SPR Senna. That's the hottest Italian sportbike ever! A beautiful, voluptuous monster of a superbike. Anyway, back to Shannon. Very sexy. I brought her to my house but parked in the alley, right by the entrance to the back yard. As we entered the yard, I told her that I had made arrangements with Santa to have Christmas in May. We played in the snow and threw it around a little. She made a little snowman, and I did a snow angel, and it was great fun. Then she opened her present. It took her forever to open it. When she finally got the wrapper off ad got the box open, her jaw dropped to to the ground when she found another wrapped box inside. But she finally got it all open. When she read my fumy notes, she laughed a little and said, "You're such a dork." Yes, I suppose I am. But I had another gift for her. While she looked at the picture I made, I opened the shed where I keep my little pocket bike. I retrieved a little wooden box, then walked back to her and squatted beside her in the snow. I said: "I have another present for you. This one's from me, not Santa." I opened the box so she could see the ring inside. She said, "It's beautiful," and I replied, "I love you so much. Will you marry me?" I'm happy to report that her answer was "Yes." Shannon and I will be married on August 2.
