That is not to say that I never cared about anyone before. (Although, honestly, it's been a while.) It's just that I never cared about anyone on Valentine's Day before. Ever. Maybe I just didn't try hard enough, but I'm finding it easier to care these days.

To me it means that those who take responsibility for the situation have power to improve it. Whereas those who attribute it all to luck. ... Well, the best they can hope for is to be lucky enough to have good strong men around. As opposed to bad strong men.
