My girlfriend has a weight problem too. I know how to help her but she is under so much stress from her mother and school that knowing how to help isn't enough. For the record: certain foods trigger fat forming enzymes by raising blood sugar above 150u/ml. It takes about 5 days of keeping blood sugar below that threshold to deactivate these enzymes. One candy bar, a hand full of potato chips or a cup of coffee, or diet coke will push blood sugar over this threshold. When these enzymes are activated, they drag blood sugar down to about 70u/ml and you feel like it even hurts to breathe so you take a candy bar or a caffiene hit and you are a rollercoaster. There are drugs that can help (both legal and not). Meth for instance will peal pounds off but is dangerously addictive and you could start talking to lamp posts. The first thing I would do is get some blood tests to check thyroxin levels it could be that your thyroid is not producing enough thyroxin. You also might want to talk to a nutritionist, some foods have negative calories. Apples for example have 100 calories but take 150 calories to digest them. Celery is also a negative calorie food. Water though not a food has no calories but requires calories to process. Massage also helps as long as it is tied to exercise and diet. Good luck.

#1 thing you have to do is not stress over it. If you miss a day or two of excercise or eat something you werent supposed to...dont beat yourself up...you HAVE NOT failed. You had a treat, you took a break. Just keep going.

#2 thing is to not force when you are ready...when you are really ready to lose the weight, it wont be so hard to start.

Personal experience: One day I looked at a picture and realized something wasnt right here...I stepped on the scale and weighed in at 210lbs at 5'5". It took me 3 months to lose 30lbs. So I'm not just talkin out my extra chin here lol...I've been there and I'm still working on it but work, school and stress are factors that I deal with on the daily.

If you just want someone to talk to about it or want some sensible advice, email me. Little steps go a long way, you dont have to dive in head first if thats not working for you.
