Bonjour! Sorry for it taking me so long to post again I have been very busy with midterms and tests and homework. Anywho, right now I am in Nantes (a city at the head to the Loire River colse to the Atlantic). Its really pretty here, yesterday Axelle (my french friend) took me to visit her grand parents in La Baule (a beach community). They were very nice and energetic, I was able to practice my French (I wasen't that good). After we went to a little walled town that was filled with shops and resturants. We ate at a crepe shop, I had a pear and chocolate crepe with ice cream and chantilly cream (wipped cream). It was without a doubt the best crepe I have ever had, axelle and her family laughed when I told them that I had a crepe in Paris, they said Parisians have no clue as to how to prepare crepes. After we ate crepes we drove to another french beach city that reminded me of Del Mar in southern california. It was really pretty and nice and sunny. We stopped at a famous candy shop that makes toffy (that's what it reminded me of) lolly pops. they were really good, and while we were there I was able to walk along the beach, I guess the californian was coming out in me because I felt at home walking next to the ocean. Then afterwards we returned back to Axelle's home where we exchanged music (the current first lady of France is a pop star?!?) Anywho afterwards we ate dinner. Axelle's mother had made a traditional french dinner. First we had froi gras (duck liver) on slices of bread (it was actually really good). Then we ate a "salad" made of carrots and endives with rasins. then for the main course we had slices of sausages with cheese and green beans (it was so good I almost licked my plate). Then for dessert we ate slices of cake (gateau) with ice cream (glace). Again it was really good. all-in-all it was a really good meal and a fun day.
