On my way home from work today, I realized that I had not called and told my long-time friend, Brent, about my amazing news. He didn't answer his phone. I left a message giving the basic details and he called me back soon afterwards. There were many congratulatory comments. He asked if we had planned a date for the wedding and I told him about March 22. He, then, said he also had some big news (I knew what was coming!!). He told me that Rose, his wife, is twelve-weeks pregnant!!!! What an exciting time! He said she will actually be due on March 29, but he will be up here for the wedding most likely. It was so amazing to hear of yet another friend who was going to have a baby. That brightens my day when a close friend tells me about how their wife is pregnant. Not only was I smiling from telling Brent some details of the proposal, I got to smile even bigger for the great news of my friend, Brent, soon becoming a papa. They moved into a three-bedroom and two-bath house in a decent area of Fresno and seem to be at the point where they are ready to have their children. Our phone conversation was brief but we got such a lift from each other. I think he's great for what he's doing right now and how he's guiding both Brent and I into great avenues in life.
