I received an e-mail a couple of days ago from Bob Kinford, working cowboy, author, and raconteur. Bob has a folder on one of my web pages - http://cowboyartshow.com/books.kinford/directory.htm. You should go over to the page where you can read and/or hear some of Bob's hgreat cowboy stories.
Now, the cowboy, especially those who are still working in that all important trade, is a symbol of what is great about our country. Free thinking, hard working, independent, and a real patriot, in the best sense of the word, the cowboiy symbolizes the best of the real American ethic.
Bob, like many of us, is pretty much fed up with what's going on in the national political arena, and, as a true citizen of the United States of America, has decided that this is the time to be a candidate for the Presidency. Visit Bob's web site - http://www.bobkinford.com - and read the important information Bob Kinford has posted.
Now, personally I don't agree with everything Bob says - particularly the part about about lawyers not to be allowed to run for office, etc. It's easy to understand Kinford's feeling about those in the legal profession, but , for the most part, lawyers are a pretty good bunch od professionals. I've been working with them for the past 34 years, and have met some of the bad ones, but, for the most part, they are no worse than any other professionals necessary to our life. This country is a country of laws, and who else can interpret or understand law, other than those trained to do so.
I also like Bob's concept that the ordinary citizen has a duty, and should have the gumption, to run the country. Of course, the ordinary citizen has to be educated and has to have have the desire to become involved in that formidable undetraking. He or she sure wouldn't be worse than some of the characters we now have in office. The problem is in getting good people to undertake that task.
Which brings me to today's announcement of Senator Kennedy supportiing Obama. To me, that sounds like a manifestation of a dislike for Senator Clinton or President Clinton. Whatever, the Democratic Party seem to be once again falling into organizational disarray. As today stands, it looks like Republican Romney is the best bet - at least he has experience running a state, and has experience in the some of the more complicated aspects of the business world. But, that's today's opinion, and who knows how I may feel tomorrow.
But to get back to Bob Kinford's interest in running for the Presidency, this is something we should all take seriously; Bob makes some good points, and the time may be approaching for someone like him. So visit his site, http://www.bobkinford.com , look it over, and contact Bob Kinford, letting him know your opinion of what he proposes.
