June 1, 2009: I am amazed, but impressed, with the speed the self-proclaimed great one ( read: the"I've done more in my first four months" proclamation) has moved in taking over the country, notwithstanding that he was elected to serve as the country's president, not sole arbiter, dictator, whatever.
Between taking over the automobile industry, establishing a "internet czar (to protect us, as the supreme one says), but we know that this is only a short step to a Chinese style control of our internet content, and putting the country, as a whole, into a hole.
Hussein Obama is a severe danger to this great nation as we have know it. Of course, there appears to be many people out there in the never-never land which the USA is becoming, who greatly approve of OHB's actions. As one letter writer recently wrote to the Las Vegas Review Journal, it gives him a thrill to listen to have such a intelligent and sensitive president - shades of Chris Matthews!
Which all goes to prove what those in the security industry have always known - it only takes a couple of people to overthrow a government (in a tactical training program my organization ran a couple of decades ago, it only took three people to take over a large university's security department, within just a few minutes time).
Now, I'm in a rough situation. Having been around for over seven decades, I've had the opportunity to learn and understand what the actions of our own Hussein can do. My fear for this country lies in that fact that either too many or our citizens do not understand what's happening, do not know our history, or just don't care. Of course, if you are just a young guy, all that's going on may not seem particularly dangerous, and, in fact, may even seem to be a great thing - government ownership of industry, our health care, education, ad infinitum.
I'm a registered Republican who is a classical liberal constitutionalist. So I differ in several respects with my fellow conservative Republicans in several ways, one of which is that I believe the Constitution is a living document - not that it is a document easily subjected to change to fit current political beliefs, but that it is one which today is as important and practical as it was when first created. The Constitution is not a dead piece of paper, but is a vital and dynamic document totally relevant to today's world. It is the culmination of centuries of thought by those who wanted to create a world in which mankind could be free to do that which he has the ability to do, without interference from the dictates of government.
What have our current Republican/Conservative leaders accomplished to date? Not too much. I felt that Newt Gingrich's "American Solution" concept was a good one - so I made a small donation, and received my "Drill Now, Drill Here, Pay Less" bumper sticker (Which, because I believe in that message, I have posted in the rear window of my car). But all that I hear from the organization, an all the other Republican/Conservative organizations, is a plea for funding, so that their work can continue. My question is, what work? And the Democrats are no better. My e-mail is continually attacked by Obama people, who let me know all the good things his royal highness is doing, and that I should donate money to the party to help keep up the good work.
Now, I'm all for salesmanship, entrepreneurship, capitalism, making money, et. al, but where is that one person who I can look to, and say "now there's the one who is really doing something" to get us back on the track of greatness this country has had. I know we are living in a post-American world society, but do we have to have a leader who is excited about giving up the sole world leadership role? I know that Obama has said in the past that he's a delegator, not a CEO, but, come one, give us a break!
This country no longer seems to be the one it once was, When 3rd or 4th rate governments, like that of North Korea, isn't afraid of our power, when our own president would rather appease terrorist groups like the Palestinian (Arab)factions or the current Iranian government, we have major problems.
Another point of interest - in the mid 1950s, GM president Charles Wilson made the power statement that "What's good for GM is good for the country". Can it be that OHB has picked up on that mantra? Apparently so, since he believes that taking over General Motors is a good step for the country, and since there appears to be a number of areas that will be federalized - well, you see what I mean.
Folks, it's time to wake up and do something. Time grows shorter every day.

Sometimes it's good to be right most of the time, and at other times you can wish you weren't, which describes the way I feel about what I have written re; OHB since 2007. To review some of those blogs, see samples
