John Tory says as premier he would stop Aboriginals from occupying lands
as a form of protest. I think John Tory’s “Oka” approach to law and
enforcement will only a bad situation worst. I think his lack of empathy,
understanding, and ignorance of Natives and Native issues would make him a
poor leader for the province. John Tory is quick to defend the rights of
private property “owned” by a corporation mining uranium. The Algonquin’s
are protecting their land from environmental harm, and all John Tory is
concerned about is the rights of a corporation and not the Native American
people. If John Tory is elected Premier, I would muse with a smile the
thought of protesters squatting at Queens Park! Any politicians who
doesn’t remember the Oka Crisis needs to read their history books and
learn to be more pragmatic and flexible. I can’t stand a bully, and I
can’t stand John Tory!
