| Baby Jason's 1st Time Under Water

Today we took baby Jason under water in our pool for the first time. It was great. He went down and came back up with this confused look on his face, but he was just fine. I am going to try to upload a video of this later tonight or tomorrow. Apparently you need blow in the baby's face first and this gets them to hold their breath before going under. I didn't get all of that the 1st time I took him under and barely blew in his face at all, so when i took him under he breathed in/swallowed a little water and coughed a little when he came up. He was fine though. The next time my Wife took him under and blew in his face a lot more, so he held his breath and came up without taking in any water. It was VERY COOL to see him. He is 5 months and 3 weeks old - Jason our little champion...

you know... i saw an imax film on baby development once and it said that within the first few weeks after a baby is born, you can put them underwater and they automatically hold their breath.
seeing that was awesome. =)
