 Question of the Day
Hello Everyone,

Thank you for asking me to participate in the question of the day. I am very excited about this. Sorry for not getting in here any sooner. We have been working very hard on the new thoughts.com website, which will be launched very soon, and it’s been keeping me very busy. You are going to love it!

Thanks to everyone that has come before me with the question of the day. You all are very cool people :~)

Now it’s time for my question of the day. I noticed many of the questions have been 2 parts. I feel I should step it up a bit so I am coming at you with a 2 part… eh, make that a 4 part question ;~)

Here goes...

1. If you could travel safely through time without knowing at what time you would end up, would you do it?

2. Whether you would or not, if you could travel through time and had a choice to pick the time you would end up, what time would you like experience?

3. If you could travel safely through a wormhole without knowing what place you would go to, would you do it?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wormhole

4. Whether you would or not, if you could travel through a wormhole and had a choice to pick the place you would go, where would you like to visit?

My Answers:

1. I am not sure if I would. In my current world I would have to say no because I have a wonderful family that I love very much. With that being said, I love the idea and if I was a single man my answer could possibly be different.

2. If I could travel through time I think I would like to go into the future. 1,000 years from now must be a pretty amazing time.

3. Again, I have a family but the concept of a wormhole fascinates me.

4. If I could travel through a wormhole I would like to visit another planet, in another galaxy that has friendly life forms different than our own. I can imagine what some other planets must look like and to think that earth is the only planet with natural beauty does not make sense. I would love to see a beautiful planet with multiple moons and friendly life forms that is habitable.

Finally, I will pass the baton to the awesome brainstormer… I look forward to reading your posts

Uh, wait a minute. Jas', I dunno how this is going to work, now. The "baton" went to you when you were in the middle of the whole thing...and then someone took your place til you got back I think...well, heck I think we have a knot now:P Unless...unless you "founders" started your own QotD set up:P or something.

But, as for the questions. A bit youthfully optimistic. Oh sure, as a kid, the thought of time travel and space travel was awe-inspiring. But, the reality is much different. Regardless of being single? Wth?

1)Never go without a clue.
2)I'd be interested in visiting the past more than the future, but would be worried about tampering with timelines and messing up my present life. As often, I would be interested in seeing the Ancient Greeks(gotta love a woman in a toga:P)...but I also think this question was touched on before...shh!
3)Again, no random travel.
4)Another planet with hospitable life--like something out of Star Wars without the Sith involved--good idea! That might be interesting for sure. Or a space station like Deep Space Nine:P Otherwise, I'd wormhole around the Earth so its cheaper and faster than jets or whatnot. And, no man had better try to capitalize on...awe heck, they are already selling tshirts:P

1) yes. i have nothing in particular to keep me here so why not just go for it?

2) omg...when would i NOT like to experience? rome, naples, milan in the early rennaiscance? paris at the turn of the century? vienna at the time of mozart? sign me up!

3) Let's do it.

4) Where would i most like to go is more difficult. hmmmm...
It may not seem so very exotic but i would like to witness and experience the start of our society as it is now....let's say land in the mid-early 1950's in new york...see the jazz, the advent of rock...and yes the social upheaval too...it all interests me terribly...
hope this was an ok response...
cheers!
:)

Hmmm,
1.No, I have obligations here and now.
2.yes,I think the turn of the century 1900, would be nice. think of the opportunities for someone, like me, with an inventive mind. And the wide open spaces.
3. nope.
4. Sure, lets check out all those galaxies far far beyond.

Ok ..No.1 - YES i would jump in it, because if its the same as Back to the FUTURE, my good self with stay here to carry on life as I would've anyway.
So YES i would jump in and try my luck.

2. I'd like to experience a time in the past, something like the Wild West, where men were men and ladies were mostly treated as such.

3. Same answer as 1 - Yes.

4. Again, I've said this before but - HOGWARTS! I would want to travel somewhere that was make believe... and discover it really wasn't make believe .. it was real after all!!!.. the mind boggles.

1)No, not if I can not know when. That would be too weird for me
2)Yes that I would do and I would go back a few years a fix a mistake or two
3)Again the not knowing, I mean what if I end up a place that is in some galatic war?
4) If I knew I could end up on other planets I would love to go if I knew where I was going.

1. Would I still be safe when I get there? If so, and if I could return safely, I think I'd take the plunge!

2. I would whip ahead a couple of days, get the lottery numbers, then pop back! :)

3. Not so much!

4. First of all, I'd get the unlimited use worm-ticket, then I'd start by exploring my own planet and branch out from there!

Cool question, Jason!

1 Nope can't make it.

2 If I could go and pick the time there and back I would like to see the Renaissance time period. All the jousting and knights! One could use some Knightly armor.

3 No wormhole for me.

4 still no!

First let me say that 2 QOD will not hurt anyone lol if we just sit back relax and enjoy the double feature!! I allways like me a good double header. And getting 2, 2 part questions out of you kind seems fitting lol

1) yes... I am a firm beliver I can make it anywhere.
2) and again yes this is a dream of mine... back to the dark ages!! Where men were men and women were women.
3) lol sounds like pot luck supper to me... I am in.
4) and yes I think it would be interesting.

thanks people. i changed the baton passing over to brainstormer to get things back on to one page.

douglasmb, where would you like to visit?
Posted by  jason  on 2008-06-28 09:56:23

1. not knwoing where i would end up...no, i dont think so
2. if i could pick, i would go back to VE day, to get a real sense of the joy people felt at the end of the war, or to the Queen's coronation in 1953 - to know what society was like in Britain then, back when there was still a sense of tradition and community - street parties, neighbours you could count on, doors left unlocked without any problems...seems to me people fair better and pull together better in times of struggle

As for q's 3 and 4...space terrifies me, so I'll pass! xxxx

1. Absolutely Not

2. I would like to travel to New York City during the 1800's. I have always felt I lived there (in another life) during that time period. I would enjoy connecting and spending time with my friends and family of that lifetime.

3. Absolutely Not

4. I would want to visit Heaven. I have some unsaid words to deliver to a dear friend who lives there. Another resident, a close girlfriend, is greatly missed as well. We are long overdue for some serious girl chat. I have many hugs to deliver to my Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles and my dear sweet Father-In-Law. Peace.

I haven’t answered too many QOD in a while; I get lost with them and feel like I have to play catch-up!

I would say that YES, if I could go have in time or into the future I would. I would like to make a few different trips actually.

I would say good bye to my father before he died. I would make sure that he was not alone on the operating table.

I would go into the future just to take a peek to see if I ever find me that Taurus to marry and have beautiful babies with. :)

As for the wormhole… is this like the thing in Harry Potter where you touch it at a certain time and then you end up in another location? If so, then YES.

I would like to take day trips to various locations all over the world. I would love to see the Penguin Parade in AU, see the glaciers calving in the Arctic, taste authentic tamales in the middle of a very poor Mexican village, get pedicures walking in the salt of the Dead Sea on a weekly basis, so very many places, I don’t want to fill up the space listing them.

Very good question!!!

Thanks Jason a great question.

1) I think I would love to give it ago. However I would hope that I didn't end up in the middle of a war.

2)I have always thought I would love to travel forward in time and see if I am heading in the right direction with my life, but then I think I would worry in case I didn't like what I saw.
3) The idea of wormhole travel scares me, I would hate to be stuck in limbo, and I am not sure I would like to take a chance on where I end up.
4) If I knew that were I ended up was safe I may give it a go.

Interesting...
1. no, not me, never, I have kids.
2. Sure, maybe go back to the 50's, Happy Days, steer my family in a different direction, also, buy some choice stock, T.I., I.B.M. 3M, should do it.Maybe a coffee plantation, for future use.
3. nooooo
4. How about a trip through the worm hole, and maybe see another dimension? See some stars borning, see some galaxies colliding, bring home some slides to bore the neighbors.

may I just worm my way in here for a moment
I thought this was supposed to be QUESTION FOR THE DAY, not QUESTIONS FOR THE DAY. I do not remember a single, single question and now, our head thinker gave us 4 questions! This is starting to feel like homework...and guess what I forgot the QUESTIONS...I like the turn of the century, and I'd love to visit the future, and I thought worms lived under rocks?

love you guys!

One:Nope.I value my life here so can't leave everything and vanish!
Two: Yeah...Future is the way to go!Would love to see what life's like ahead!
Three:Thanks but no!
Four:I don't mind but I'd prefer to end up where there are friendly aliens!
Great question(I can see that this question was posted a long long time ago but it's never too late to answer,I hope!:P )
