An update on Jason
Its been awhile since I've posted on this Jason account. I was originally going to use it to to blog about my son Jason. That became blogging about site updates as we built thoughts.com. Then I created a personal blog at thoughts.com/benogden. Now I am returning this blog to its original purpose, blogging about my wonderful little boy :)
Jason just turned 3 years old last month. He has been going to school for a long time already, and he has an amazing grasp on things. Lately we have been flying kites in the backyard. At first we did it with his friends/neighbors. He loved flying the kites so much that he wanted to do it again the next day. We did not have a kite so I asked the neighbors if we could borrow theirs, and they said yes of course because they are great people. So Jason and I went into our backyard and flew the kites again that second day. Then on the third day he wanted to fly the kites once again. On this day, there was no wind. I tried to explain to him, my 3 year old son, that there was no wind and the kites would not fly. He was not having that and wanted to fly them anyway, so I asked the neighbor again if we could borrow them, even though there was no wind, just because I wanted to please him. She said "of course, any time" so we tried to fly the kites that 3rd day. This time, with there being no wind the kites did not fly. Jason asked, "why the kites not flying?" I told him, "there is no wind. the kites need wind to fly". This time, he seemed a little puzzled, but he was buying it more than the last time since the kites didn't go up. When we returned my neighbor Jennifer asked Jason, "did you fly the kite?" To which he replied, "no, there was no wind". It amazes me how quickly he'll grasp something like that.
I really love being a father. Jason brings so much light into my life and into the world and I am proud to be his dad. Every day after I get off work we play and talk, eat dinner, take a bath, use the computer, read a story and then go to bed. I love that routine.

An eventful day
Yesterday was an eventful day. We help our grand opening event for our new thoughts.com office. It was a great time with many family and friends that showed up. Adam, one of our talented programmers, took this nice photo of my mom, dad and myself at the event.
This is the next step towards our ultimate objective of making positive and lasting impacts on the world. I know that most of you already know about our goals, however for anyone that does not, please take a moment to read our "one love philosophy" - it will give you an overview of what we are set out to accomplish.
My brother David showed up witch was great considering we held the event early in the morning. Let me say thank you very much to EVERYONE that made it - we really appreciate your support.
My other brother Mike - his wife had their 3rd son on the same day. I am going to the hospital to see him in a few minutes. August 19th was a great day - Thank you :)
One Love,

Thoughts.com Grand Opening Event
Well, I am sitting here in my office watching them build the stage for our grand opening event tomorrow. We are finally in the new office, and tomorrow is our official opening where I will be giving a speech. I have it written out and have been practicing last night and again today, so I feel comfortable with what I am saying. I just wish it would get here already so I can make the speech and move on to the meet and greet after wards. That is the part I enjoy the most. Wish me luck :)
On another note, I am really excited about the new thoughts.com site we have in development. I know I've mentioned it before, but we have some great advances on the technology side, with some much needed simplifications on the user experience side, and the combined result is going to be amazing. Please don't try to get any more out of me. I am like a rock - not budging.
One Love,
Ben
