| Horrible Surprise |

When my parents found out about my interests in Wicca it was one of the biggest disappointments I would give them. In the sixth grade, I checked out the first three books to a series called “The Circle of Three”. The series were about how three girls met at first trying to fix one girls spell she cast to make her crush fall in love with her. The three girls became friends besides their differences and started studying Wicca together. The author of the books was called Isobel Bird who was a practicing Wicca. Before I read these books I thought Witchcraft was fake, something people made up for movies or TV. shows. At first I thought since spells were real, I could use them to get rid of my problems. I never told my parents my interest in spells because I knew they would not accept it. To make a long story short my older sister caught me on the public library looking up spells. She told my parents immediately after we got home. My parents told me that when I did spells I was praying to the devil. That Witchcraft or wicca was a way for the devil to bring people into hell. At first I believed them, but as time went by and I began to sneak Wiccan books into the house I slowly realized my parents was 100% wrong. My parents did catch me a with some wiccan books a few times and they were really angry. They now make me go to bible study and soon church, I wish they would just accept the fact I believe in a different belief system than them. I wish they would just read a little about Wicca so they can realize its not that bad. I wish I could buy book about Wicca and read them in the open, could celebrate the wheel of the year, and to set up a altar. I wish I could wear a pentacle to show everyone in not ashamed of what I believe in. I can do none of these things. When and if I have children I want force my religion on them. I will let my children chose what religion to practice(as long as it doesn’t harm them) and I will even let them be Atheist or Agnostic.
