Do you know who Achilles is? He is not my dude though I'm wishing he would perfectly resemble mine. He is a Greek mythology character. He's not one of the gods but consider himself as high as the gods. He is a mortal, an arrogant, egoistic, self-centered warrior of the Spartans. Watch "Troy" where Brad Pitt played the said role and you will have a picturesque idea of who Achilles is. He fights, he gets angry, gets annoyed, he commands, and most importantly, he falls in love, he shows concern, he cares and I love him.
Arrogance is what portrays his personality in general but there is something noble in him that only few took notice of. He's despicable, yes, but he's admirable too. He got the character I wish all guys could have; romantic, brave and firm not in the sense that one should first be a knight or a warrior before performing series of chivalrous acts. Just be man enough and and do what is expected.
Achilles pride speaks of his characteristic as a man of principle. He knows what he wants and he really stands for it, no matter what it takes, even if that shows disobedience to the kings. Unlike other guys around who can't stand with their words and promises. They swear to offer every good thing on Earth but they end up telling the worst tale.
Though conceited, Achilles still possessed a clean heart and a good soul that reminds him how girls are to be treated, how subordinates or followers are to be valued, and how close relatives are to be protected.
Some men today don't anymore live up with the chivalry creed. Gallantry for them is not anymore about good manners but more on looks and machismo. The bigger their muscles are, the more manly they are. The more girls they have, the more masculine they are. That is exactly the dogma they are living up with.
In contrast to Achilles qualities, some guys of the present generation are not man enough to take action and responsibilities. They are mere chauvinist pigs who only think of 3 things; self, money and sex.
The challenge, move your torso, be accountable for anything that you do and be a MAN!
