 Richmond Heritage.

As looking for something, anything to right about for this week i foudn myself at the ibrary of vcui website at some musuem houses in richmond. I stumbled apon the Agecroft house. which is an Elizabethan Masion that was taken apart and shipped in boxes from England to Richmond Va. Whoa... like they shipped whole houses. Thats nuts. Why don't you just build a new damn house?! I find myself wanting to know more about the people. so heres the link.

 agecroft house

" The story of Agecroft Hall begins about 500 years ago in Lancashire, England. The house was a built in a quadrangle with 20 rooms: kitchen, great hall, great parlor, dining parlor, bedchambers and a private chapel. When Sir Robert Langley, last of the male heirs, died in 1561, the property reverted to his daughter, married to a William Dauntesey. The property remained in the Dauntesey family until 1811. Then, for one reason or another, it became unoccupied from 1904 until 1925. Then it was put up for auction, and along came Thomas C. Williams, Jr. of all places--Richmond,VA , USA."

I found links about mroe history here.

So, I have had this question in my head for a while. Is it that most Europeans around the time of 1500's-present just want to control everything, own everything? i mean thats why peopl left for religious reasons. Then you have quakers and mormons, who seem to not thrive for as much power. But, im just saying that without real fact. Is it just inside each of us to want more and to be better then each other? Seems like through this history we havent changed our basic inhabitions. weird.
