 Counting Blessings.
So my mom told me that my dad couldn't work overtime anymore coz his boss reasoned to him that they're avoiding lay-offs in the company. Totally understandable, but that would mean that the money my dad usually sends us would be cut in HALF.
I'm all for belt-tightening. Then my mom added that we shouldn't tell anyone about our financial situation. Which is kinda stupid because people all over the world are losing their jobs and we have to consider ourselves lucky that my dad is still working.

Why should we be ashamed that we'll have to save more and work a little harder?? I don't see anything wrong in admitting that we're going through hard times and that we won't be able to spend as much as we did before and won't be able to maintain the same comfortable lifestyle.

I count my blessings, and I realize that this global recession would only affect external, material things in my life. When you count your blessings, you realize the things that really matter in your life.

it's okay, most everyone's going through that kind of thing right now. though my parents haven't been laid off or anything, this recession is effecting us in other ways. hopefully barack obama will fix it.
