What has happened in this country? I read this in the paper today and thought what in the world? The city council in Akron is faced with lawsuit if they dont drop saying a prayer before meetings. I am a Christian but thats beside the point. The point is this country is founded on God. Our money states "in God we trust" If we leave God out of this country where do we stand?Already there is a decline in morals in the last 10 years, we have seen an increase in immorality or at least it seems. People are not ashamed now to be "gay" or to go out drinking and partying all night long.Ten to fifteen years ago we wouldnt have put up with it as much as we do now. I know I'm young that goes without saying. But I do remember a time when books didnt involve gay parents and things like that. I do remember when there were rules and limits, where a simple "no" and a smack on the butt made a kid behave. Even parents now are afraid to say no or smack their kids butt because of what other parents will say or their kids will have permanent trauma.Even now the pledge cant be said in school because it says "under God." What would our founding fathers say if they could see what this country is turning into? Would they be proud to see Paris Hilton's immoral actions, the pledge not being said because it says "Under God" movies like Brokeback Mountain being box office hits, evolution being taught in school and the fight to remove "In God We Trust" from our currency? My answer no they would not, they based this country on God given principles and God should be what this country is still based on.It seems like people are putting God on the back burner. There are still some people who will fight for the beliefs of the founding fathers and for God. I will admit I am one of them. Even if you think that prayer shouldnt be in city councils,or the pledge should be said in schools, theres a much deeper thought here, are we going to allow everything immoral and wrong to be considered moral? If they start removing prayer the thought now is "whats next?" what will they take away and allow?
