My first blog was sort of an intro to me, and my life. I am a stay at home mom with a great husband and two beautiful daughters. My eldest daughter Sarah was born 7 weeks pre-term and has multiple mild developmental issues, ranging from visual and motor to attention and behavior. She is bright, funny and a generally delicious kid. My younger daughter Rachel is also delicious and fun, does not have developmental issues (thanks g-d), and is a great positive burst of energy in our house. Good days are phenomenal and bad days are expected and accepted. Horrific days sometimes still twist my guts and leave me raw. I guess that is all part of having a family with a special needs child, or maybe it is just part of being a parent in general.
My goal in this blog is to inform, occasionally rant, and most importantly, pay it forward and help another special needs parent. I have researched many therapies, both conservative and traditional, and done a lot with both public and private services to help my child. On this journey, I really had to self-educate on all of the resources available.
I appreciate any feedback. I tend to be a bit verbose but will try to stick to what is most interesting and useful, hopefully without going off the deep end... (get that , ha-ha! the deep end, but hey the ridiculous water metaphors are only just beginning with my title!)
Thanks for reading.
