and now it was close to Chrysler to decide where to start with their new department... but especially the 4x4 Comanche.

The Comanche pickup was built in the successful Jeep Cherokee stage sharing most major drive train and some body/interior parts.

I have always felt that the Comanche truck was some sort of handsome looking pickup, and being a good size relating to the compact and full-sized pickups through the entire spectrum of American together with Foreign entries.

I currently own a classic 1987 Jeep Comanche 4x4 long bed with a 5 spd. standard and also the first of the several. 0 Liter engines. As i thoroughly enjoy my truck... and have loved most Jeeps for a long time now. This truck has plenty of power and will go anywhere it can be pointed... especially in tough driving conditions.

My truck is smooth on the highway and handles dirt, stones, mud, snow and ice additionally. There are no electrical power windows, seats or locks anywhere about this workhorse.

Chrysler/Jeep has been talking for countless years now about building some sort of production pickup to pack the long gap since Jeep Comanche. In 2005 they ended up with the Jeep Gladiator Concept prototype which will knock your socks off of. This is one nice looking pickup built on that Wrangler Unlimited platform.

In the meantime, while awaiting new Jeep Pickup blood from Chrysler... there are a few nice Comanches still on the highway and some are even available to good homes. They can only become rarer with time.

So... get hold of one up... take care from it... and enjoy the Jeep Experience!

Chrysler known that through July 31, 2006 year-to-date Wrangler sales were down 17%, Liberty sales were off 23% and Grand Cherokee sales were down 37% when compared to 2005 sales! Sales for July 2006 were down 32% for the Wrangler, 52% for this Liberty, and 58% for the Grand Cherokee. These are huge declines and one must wonder just precisely what is fueling the drop.
