| The West is commiting suicide...

Since the start of life on this planet, civilizations have been born, left their mark in this world and have perished. This is a cycle that our Creator has set in motion which will continue until the End Times. Great nations arise, and spread their influence, by force and by culture until they reach their zenith. Then as time goes by, they get weak, lose their power and wither away.
If we look at history, most civilizations that peirshed, atrophied from within. The same forces that gave rise to these empires and nations, annihilate them. Examples would be the ancient egyptians, babylonians, mayans, ancient greece and the Roman empires. Constant warfare, economic inequity, wastage of precious time in amuesement and festivity, and contempt for morality, all contribute to the downfall of a society.
We see all these symtpoms today, in our so-called modern world. When I talk about the west, I'm not speaking of one specific geograhical region, but rather an ideology and a culture which is based on materialism and defiance of God. This disease of utilitarianism is not just present in the United Sates or Europe, but every place where there is contempt for God's laws and His commandments. But Europe, and to a lesser extent, the United States are leading this bandwagon towards doom.
The two major diabolical characteristics of this downfall are progressive infanticide in the form of abortion and sterilization, and the second is the anathema of nationalism.
The former is carried out in the name of choice and women's productive rights, where people are encouraged to kill their own progeny. The family structure is in disarray, where the typcial two person family is a mother and her child. Men have become irresponsible and women are being used as sex objects without any regard for their character and emotional disposition.
Birth control is being heralded as our emancipator, which will reduce world population. I'm not against birth control per se, but if you implement it in countries where there will be a crisis in the near future, (see my previous blog post about the demographic disaster in europe), then basically you are extinguishing your own future.
As for the latter, nationalism has been, and is the greatest cause of global strife. It has created divisions, bigotry and hatred between people, in many instances, living within a same country. This display of superiority manifests itslef in the form of occupation of weaker countries by the superpowers, opression of one religious ideology by another, or a clash of one linguistic group with another.
Thousands of young men - and many women - of the US military have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those that do make it back alive suffer from depression and post traumatic experiences. The potential of a nation is being wasted, not to mention hundreds of billions of dollars. And the scariest detail of it all is that this is being carried out in the name of freedom.

In short, the western civilization is doing everything it can to eradicate iteself from this planet. And nations that are trying really hard to emulate the lifestyle and the qualities of the west will fare no better. The only hope this world, and indeed the west has, is to recognize and accept it's Creator and submit to Him. He says in the Quran, Romans, verse 41:
Disasters have spread throughout the land and sea, because of what the people have committed. He thus lets them taste the consequences of some of their works, that they may return (to the right works).
It is never too late to reform ourselves and return to our Lord, The Most Generous, The Most Merciful. This world has become tired of materialism, and needs a spiritual rejuvination, and the final Guidance of God, The Quran is here to heal us.
